Black Mage from Final Fantasy. Or Orko from He-Man. Take your pick :)

Love the art style of Gotham City Impostors. I also love the concept: people who don’t have the money or resources to be Batman or the Joker do their best to imitate them. Characters wear trash can lids as armor, roller skate across levels and megaphones to cheer on their team. Oh, and guns. Lots and lots of guns.

My wife sent me a face drawing tutorial video and I decided to give it a try. Portraits are damn hard, especially when you’re trying to draw someone famous. Even though this isn’t the greatest, I did pick up some good tips and tricks. This is the most I’ve even drawn, and even though I’m not doing as much as I had originally wanted I’m happy with what I’m doing. Hopefully can keep this momentum going.

Scott lands a job, and 500 XP.

Street Fighter II is one of my all time favorite video games. I spent countless hours after school in the local arcade playing it, honing my skills and mastering the play styles of each of the characters. Today’s drawing comes from that love, and the awesome figurines that Kid Robot put out recently (of which I have 3).

This week I decided to try something different and draw real wildlife, not the imaginary kind I’ve seen in video games. My inspiration came from seeing this Flickr page. Way cooler than mine, obviously.

I’ve been reading ‘Daredevil Yellow’ and thought I’d give drawing something from that a shot. This one was tougher for me because of the perspective, but I think it turned out ok. I’m kind of enjoying using color in these pics as well, as it gives me something else to do rather than just lament my lack of ability to draw.

I’m behind 3 drawings, so I’m off to a great start on this promise I made to myself :P

This is another Skyrim drawing, as I tend to be playing that a lot lately. The weapons in this thing have incredible detail and artwork etched into them.

I enjoy drawing, but I have the skills of a newborn when it comes to actually putting something on paper. I’ve told myself time and again that I need to keep at it to improve, but seeing how bad I am just makes me not want to try.

Starting today I’m trying to change that by posting a drawing a day for a month. Either I’ll stick with it, improve a bit and enjoy myself, or I’ll crash and burn in a pit of despair. Let’s hope for the former.

Today’s terrible drawing is based off my adventures in the video game Skyrim. I’m the little blob in the lower middle after having killed a dragon. Note the photo realism in my landscape, especially the pipe cleaner trees.
